The NYC Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is seeking 1-2 photographers for each of our four upcoming Community Walks throughout the boroughs. The Community Walks held in hundreds of communities across the country, are the core of the Out of the Darkness movement, which began in 2004. These events give people the courage to open up about their own connection to the cause, and a platform to create a culture that’s smarter about mental health. Friends, family members, neighbors and coworkers walk side-by-side, supporting each other and in memory of those we’ve lost.

Photographers, ideally with live event experience, are needed for the following for walk events:

  • Brooklyn/Queens Walk | Sunday, September 15 | Cadman Plaza Park
  • Bronx Walk | Sunday, September 22 | Lehman College
  • Staten Island Walk | Sunday, September 29 | Clove Lakes Park
  • NYC Walk | Sunday, October 6 | Pier 16 & 17 - Seaport District

Photo rights will be given to AFSP and photographer credit will be given if photos are publicized. A few selects for the event recap will be needed within 24 hours and full album needed within 7 days post-event.
