Volunteers are the heart of Helping Link. The volunteer recruitment specialist will actively recruit and engage professionals, students, and retirees to join Helping Link’s volunteer teams and help us construct meaningful work for the community.
Responsibilities:
- Write, edit, update, and manage recruitment ads for our annual fundraising event this October 2024.
- Develop and cultivate positive relationships with professional networks, nearby schools, universities, businesses, residents, churches and temples, community centers, and other community members in the Renton neighborhoods.
- Seek out opportunities for the placement of recruitment ads within schools, professional networks, and young professional community forums.
- Manage communication with prospective volunteers, donors, clients, and members of the board.
- Develop Helping Link/Một Dấu Nối’s vision and future strategy for the board of members, sponsors, clients, and prospective volunteers.
- Lead volunteer onboarding sessions twice a month.
- Lead community outreach efforts that promote Helping Link/Một Dấu Nối such as posting flyers, event promotion tabling, and attending community meetings.
Requirements:
- Ability to skillfully handle people in-person and on the phone for positive outcomes.
- Possess strong written communication skills.
- Solid computer skills, with working knowledge and basic competencies with MS Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work in a team and lead volunteers.
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to multi-task and manage time wisely.
- Fun-loving and enthusiastic attitude.
- Function as a cooperative member of a team.
- Driver's License or Legal form of ID needed for Background Check.
- Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
- Orientation and Training.
Weekly time committment:
- Minimum of 4 hours/week
- Present - End of October
- Opportunities to continue as Marketing Manager Volunteer post-fundraising event

- Remote (King County Area, Washington State)
- Get a chance to promote and support a local community-driven grassroots organization’s mission to improve the lives of the Vietnamese community in King County.
- Network and connect with sponsors, clients, volunteers and members of the Board of Directors within and outside of Helping Link/Một Dấu Nối.

Helping Link has been serving the Vietnamese-American immigrant community for twenty-five years. We provide English language, citizenship, and computer education classes for adults and seniors; job-site language training; information and referral services for our most vulnerable; and cultural events for the community. Our programs are offered in a bilingual context and in a supportive, family-friendly atmosphere.
