Do you own a pet who has a simple behavioral certification? Would you like to bring your pet to visit hospice patients where they live, whether at home or at a facility? We need you! We are looking for compassionate, caring individuals to bring their loving pet to visit our hospice patients. This opportunity is flexible, in that you can visit patients on your own schedule. Most visits are to nursing homes and assisted living facilities, seeing many patients during one visit. Patients love pet therapy visits, it calms them and allows them to pet animals that they no longer are able to see. Being an OSF Hospice volunteer means serving our patients with the greatest care and love, and we invite you to be a part of our wonderful team of volunteers. We all share the same vision and this opportunity is most times just as gratifying for our volunteers as it is for our patients. If you are interested, please reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator Pamela Ward-Carr, at Pamela.L.Ward-Carr@osfhealthcare.org, or give her a call at 815-381-6330. Once a background check is performed, a few other requirements need to be met and you are on your way to giving valuable, meaningful time to those in their end-of-life journey.
