There's more than one way to make a difference and support the Red Cross Mission. Put your skills to use!
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides comfort to victims of disasters; supplies about 40% of the nation’s blood; teaches skills that save lives; distributes international humanitarian aid; and supports veterans, military members and their families. But we can't do that work without support from our dedicated Facilities volunteers.
We need your skills, your time, and your compassion. Join us as a Red Cross Facilities Volunteer at our Winston-Salem Blood Collection Center. Duties may include:
- Monthly building inspections of fire extinguishers, AED, and emergency lighting
- Minor repair issues (e.g., changing light bulbs).
- Supporting preventive maintenance programs and coordinating repair and maintenance activities to ensure facilities are well-maintained and operational.
- Depending upon the volunteer's skill level, other building maintenance duties may be assigned.
