Portland Japanese Garden is looking for new volunteers to share their love of the Garden with the community.
Volunteers are needed to welcome visitors to the Garden from our Cultural Village, the lively courtyard space situated outside of our five Historic Gardens that is home to our Umami Cafe, Gift Shop, and Jordan Schnitzer Japanese Arts Learning Center and that serves as the location for many of our cultural performances, demonstrations, and seasonal festivals.
As guests arrive at the Cultural Village from their stroll through the Entry Garden, they may have questions or need help getting oriented in the space. The Cultural Village Host serves as a friendly point of contact for them to make sure that they start their visit to the Garden on the right foot. The duties of the Cultural Village Host include welcoming guests, providing wayfinding assistance, and sharing information about programming at the Garden such as tours, cultural demonstrations, and art exhibitions.
Shifts for this role are two hours long and available weekdays and weekends between the hours of 10am-2pm.
