ORGANIZATION: ONE EAST PALO ALTO

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Food distribution is a great chance for volunteers to interface with clients and help build a resilient community. This is a hands-on volunteer activity that can require repeated bending, carrying, and lifting of 25 pounds. This is primarily a pre-box Drive Thru distribution where activities may include setting up cones, signs, tables, and canopies; unloading and moving food boxes from pallets; bagging frozen meat items; guiding traffic; greeting and checking in clients; loading vehicles and carts; and cleaning up the site.

Volunteers must be willing and able to work with people of different backgrounds and nationalities, exhibit compassion and sensitivity, and maintain strict confidentiality of all client and volunteer information.

Please wear closed toe shoes for safety. Gloves and other safety items will be given on site.
