ORGANIZATION: Dress for Success Houston

Our volunteers lead an hour-long interview preparation class for our clients who have an upcoming interview or job fair to help boost their confidence and pracitice common interview questions. Men and woman are encouraged to volunteer in this position. Shifts are two hours in length M-F and there are also opportunities to volunteers on select Saturdays and Thursday evenings.

The mission of Dress for Success Houston is to promote the economic independence of women by providing a network of support, career development tools, and professional attire to help women thrive in work and in life. The mission of the Professional Women's Group (PWG) is to provide employed Dress for Success women the partnership of support, practical information and inspiration to achieve self-defined success in career and life. Our Women Veterans Program brings together women facing unique challenges for networking, comradery, and growth. We have proudly served over 47,000 women since 1998 including 1,700 Veterans.

Description

Founded in the summer of 1998 by Nancy Levicki and Susie Cunningham, Dress for Success Houston has grown from serving three non-profit member organizations to serving over 180 non-profit sites in the Houston Metropolitan area. DFSH has suited thousands of women, reflecting the overwhelming need in the Houston community. An independent 501(c) (3) corporation registered in the state of Texas, Dress for Success Houston is part of a world-wide network and is an affiliate to over 125 Dress for Success organizations.

  • Orientation or Training
  • Shifts are two hours in length M-F and one hour on select Saturdays and Thursday evenings. There is no maximum number of hours or shifts required. Volunteer on YOUR schedule as often as you would like.
