Sights for Hope is in search of compassionate and energetic individuals to assist clients with visual impairments during center based and community based events.
Sights for Hope clients participate in lifeskills education, Support Groups, and social rec activities. Courtesy and sighted guide training is required for all volunteers.

Mission Statement
Sights for Hope provides a comprehensive set of preventative, rehabilitative, support and social services enabling blind and visually impaired clients to achieve their personal goals and restore quality of life consistent with those goals. Programs will provide a balance of independent living skills and social services to meet individual needs across a diverse client base and also help reduce the incidence of vision loss in the community through prevention of blindness and remedial eye care services.
Description
Sights for Hope (previously known as Center for Vision Loss) with offices in Allentown, PA and Stroudsburg, PA (4215 Manor Drive, Stroudsburg, PA 18360, P. 570-992-7787) provides services and programs to blind and visually impaired individuals. These programs and services include: 1. Client Services-providing case management and in-home assistance when needed and information and referral when appropriate; 2. Low Vision Services directed by optometrist Anthony Silvetti, OD to help people retain the vision they have remaining after their sight can no longer be corrected by conventional methods; 3. Vision Help provides financially qualified individuals with eye care and eye glasses; 4. Community Outreach including vision screenings for children and adults and educational programs about eye health, eye safety and eye care at health fairs, meetings and other public venues. Staff also provide sensitivity training for people who work with blind and visually impaired consumers in private and public business and industry.
