Mission Statement
The purpose for which this corporation is organized is to promote, create, and regulate an operational museum for the "Greater Alton Area" in order to preserve the area's history and art. Description
Since the summer of 1971 we have dedicated ourselves to inspiring community members and beyond to appreciate Alton's important heritage. AMHA's legacy includes preserving architectural information, illuminating influential personalities (Lovejoy, Wadlow, Lincoln, M. We host monthly presentations, provide an annual Jazz festival dedicated to the master Miles Davis, support responsible environmental projects/organizations (Piasa Sierra Club, Veteran therapy garden, etc.), are members of Toast Master's International. AMHA also helps provide injured workers with alternative income options via the company ReEmployability.
