Do you want to make a real difference in the life of a young person? Sign up to be a Big Brother or Big Sister in Mercer County, NJ. We need caring adults, 18 and older, who can spend one-to-one time with a child for 3-5 hours per month in our Community-Based Program.

In our Community-Based program can do ordinary everyday things like go to the library, take a walk, have a soda together, play ball, visit a museum, or attend one of BBBS Mercer's events.

HIT TAKES LITTLE TO BE BIG. The good you do will far outweigh what you contribute.

About Big Brothers Big Sisters Mercer County

Location:

Mission Statement

Our mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

Description

The Mercer County Chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters was founded in 1973 by a group of educators and concerned citizens. Their goal was to serve and support the unmet needs of at-risk youth, many of whom were impoverished, living in single-parent homes, and losing their way in turbulent times.

Fashioned after, and affiliated with the national, award-winning agency of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (founded in 1904), our chapter remains as vital a part of the social service structure of Mercer County as it was when it was founded. Since 2002, when it was reincorporated, BBBS-Mercer has positively impacted the lives of over 8,000 at-risk children in Mercer County.
