Introduction

WIA is undergoing a significant transformation as we embark on a rebranding journey. We

are excited to unveil our brand within the next year, which will better reflect our mission,

values, and vision for the future, especially our commitment to gender equity in animation,

visual effects, and gaming worldwide.

About WIA

WIA was founded in 1993 by a group of pioneering women in animation to foster the dignity

and advancement of women working in animation. Their dedication to the empowerment

and advocacy for women within the industry has seen WIA evolve into the foremost gender

identity-based advocacy organization in animation, championing equity for people of

underrepresented gender identities (inclusive of cis and trans women and nonbinary

people). Today, WIA touts a robust membership of more than 14,000 diverse creatives from

around the globe in the animation, visual effects, and gaming fields. More information about

The Need

WIA is undertaking a website redesign project as part of our rebranding initiative. We are

forming a small committee of experts to act as advisors, offer feedback, and ensure the

website redesign project aligns with our mission and goals. We are seeking knowledgeable

and experienced individuals to serve as advisory committee members.

Advisory Committee Member Responsibilities

● Provide Expertise:

○ Offer insights and guidance based on your area of expertise.

○ Advise on best practices in web design, user experience, and digital

engagement.

● Review Designs:

○ Review wireframes, mockups, and design proposals.

○ Provide constructive feedback to ensure the designs meet user needs and

reflect the WIA brand.

● Offer Feedback:

○ Participate in feedback sessions and provide detailed input on design

iterations.

○ Ensure the website effectively serves primary users (members) and secondary

users (donors).

○ Ensure the redesign aligns with WIA’s mission and vision

Qualifications

● Experience and background:

○ Proven experience in web design, user experience, digital marketing, or

related fields.

○ Experience working with nonprofit organizations and/or in the animation, VFX,

and gaming industry is a plus.

○ Commitment to and support for gender equity is required

● Skills:

○ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

○ Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

○ Ability to provide clear and actionable feedback.

Commitment

● Attend up to four online meetings of a maximum of 90 minutes each

○ Tentative timeline: Kickoff meeting in September and feedback sessions in

October, November, and January

● Review online materials and provide feedback as needed

● Treat all sensitive and confidential information with discretion and perform all of the

above duties responsibly and with professionalism
