The Digital Content Creation volunteer will be involved in the research, creation, evaluation, and posting/displaying digital content, specifically an ASL version of the Declaration of Sentiments. This position supports the site’s goals of connecting to the public by presenting educational content to visitors in intentional, thoughtful, and purposeful ways.
The volunteer will guide the translation of Declaration of Sentiments with support from the visual information specialist.
Responsibilities may include:
- Translating existing materials to digital forms
- Researching/vetting validity of content using various research methods
- Producing content that follows NPS standards for media
- Consulting on editing/filming/development for the project
- Finding new and innovative ways to provide educational experiences
- Providing feedback on educational content created by other team members related to the project.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in American Sign Language
- Ability to sit and use a computer for various amounts of time
- Have a background in education, social media creation, graphic design, videography, and/or experience working in any of those fields as they relate to non-profits/digital education is preferred
- Possess strong organizational and communication skills
- Driven to work semi-autonomously, with supervisor/team support and check-ins
- Have a passion for creating educational content and willingness to grow/learn new skills
Shifts can be flexible based on project assignment. The project team can collaborate on a detailed timeline with volunteers.
