Helping Families Handle Cancer is an organization that provides emergency financial assistance to families who have a child undergoing cancer treatment. We acquire a lot of our funding through donations and events.
We are currently planning a charity fundraiser Dessert Gala on September 28, 2024 in honour of National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and we need an additional committee member to join our planning team. This role will take 2-4 hours per week. This new memeber will help us secure food and materials donations, as well as help plan logistics and organizational details of the event.
We have regular meetings of no longer than one hour, and as an organization dedicated to helping families, we prioritize each others' well-being and operate with respect, trust, and transparency.
Meetings take place over Zoom, but you need to be in the greater Calgary, Alberta area on the day of the event, and ideally, as the event approaches.
