Volunteers are needed to help Great Rivers Greenway staff and the Missouri Botanical Gardens Outdoor Leadership Corps remove invasive bush honeysuckle on Saturday, October 5th from 9AM to 11AM!
Volunteers will help remove the invasive bush honeysuckle at Cliff Cave Park by cutting the plant with handsaws or loppers, and dragging the debris into brush piles. No experience is necessary for this activity, but it does involve physical labor and walking in the woods over varying terrain.
No experience necessary; Great Rivers Greenway staff and the Missouri Botanical Garden's Outdoor Leadership Corps will teach volunteers how to properly identify, remove, and treat bush honeysuckle.
What to wear: Please dress for the weather. Long pants and closed toed shoes are required. Eye protection and gloves will be provided.
What to bring: All tools will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own loppers or hand pruners if you have them. Please bring a water bottle to help us reduce plastic waste. Light snacks and water will be provided.

Mission Statement
Connecting the St. Louis region with greenways so people can explore their rivers, parks and communities, making it a vibrant place to live, work, and play.
Description
Great Rivers Greenway is a regional public agency, created by a vote of the people in the year 2000 to leave a legacy for future generations. That vote created a sales tax that funds our organization to build, bring to life and care for the network of greenways. In 2013, the region dedicated additional funds to parks and greenways, and we became the stewards of the local investment in the CityArchRiver Project, the transformation of the area surrounding the Gateway Arch.
Residents of the St. Louis region voted for and invested in a clear, bold vision - a dynamic network of parks and open spaces linked together by greenways, connecting our communities so people can live life outside. The network of greenways strengthens the social, economic and environmental well-being of our region. Community members proudly invest in, care for and champion greenways for years to come.
