Night Lights serves our special needs community by providing respite care for children with special needs and their siblings once a month. We need volunteers to be paired with a child during those respite care nights to play with them and watch them through the night. Volunteers would need to show up at 5:30 for orientation, then watch a single child, ages one month to their 13th birthday, from 6:30 until 10:00. Events are usually on the second Friday of the month.
Volunteers do need to undergo a background check, but will be trained on child care and special needs procedures so no previous experience is necessary. A registered nurse is always on staff to take care of any medical needs; volunteers just need to come willing to play with a child for a few hours!
