Cooking Volunteer

The purpose of our cooking volunteers is to provide families staying at Fisher House with fresh baked goods and/or meals to promote a "home away from home" environment.

Activities must be scheduled in advance with the Fisher House Manager at 612-467-1618

· Meal will be prepared at the Fisher House.

· Volunteers will be responsible for good hygiene practices including wearing gloves, the cleanliness of entire food preparation area before and after.

· Volunteers will label and date the items that prepare before putting it in the refrigerators.

General Indoor Volunteer

The purpose of our indoor volunteer is to provide families that are staying at the Fisher House with a clean, safe and beautiful home.

Activities must be scheduled in advance with the Fisher House Manager at 612-467-1618

Tasks will be identified based on the current needs of the houses and could include:

· Organizing, sweeping, dusting, etc.

· Organizing cupboards.

· Checking expiration dates on food and fluid packages.

· Re-stocking areas from the storage closets.

· Activities or game night for guests.

· Assist with decorating for the holiday seasons.

· Assist with making copies and putting together guest packets.

General Outdoor Volunteer

To provide families staying at Fisher House with beautiful and relaxing gardens to enjoy when walking into the Fisher House as well as sitting out in the patio space.

Activities must be scheduled in advance with the Fisher House Manager at 612-467-1618

Potential duties:

· Planting and/or weeding gardens.

· Mulching gardens as needed.

· Power washing the houses and washing the outside windows.

· Picking up litter on the Fisher House property.

· Cleaning shuttle shelter.

· Assisting with moving patio furniture.

· Cleaning bird baths and refilling bird feeders.
