ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Help join Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site staff in a general park clean up from 10am to 1pm. We will be working together to collect sticks and branches to improve the landscape and support our Bake Oven demonstrations and clean historic structures to improve the visitor experience. Pending staff availability, you can also learn about the types of invasive species that are prominent in and around Hopewell Furnace, how to identify certain types of invasives, and how the National Park Service works to remove these species. Hopewell Furnace is a unit of the National Park Service and preserves and interprets a 19th century iron community, so please join us in cleaning up your local National Park site and contributing to the improvement of our programming!

Please bring a pair of gloves, sunscreen, and a hat. Wear comfortable closed-toed shoes, long sleeved shirts and pants, and bug spray. On the day of the event, volunteers will meet at the Hopewell Furnace Visitor Center for debrief.
