Au Sable Lighthouse Summer 2025

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Join us at Pictured Rocks Au Sable Lighthouse to experience and connect with visitors about the maritime history!

Lighthouse volunteers work 5 days a week at the Au Sable Light Station. The tour of duty is late morning to early evening, generally Wednesdays - Sundays. We normally provide tours for some 1,200 - 1,500 visitors a summer though many more hike to or through the site which is on the North Country National Scenic Trail.

Volunteers operate the information center and small maritime museum. They also assist with the interpretive tours. The seasonal park ranger/interpreter works with the volunteer regarding training, information sources, etc. There must be two volunteers and housing is shared. This entails either spouse, significant other, or good friend. These positions are month long commitments. Positions available in June, July, August, and September.
