Position Overview:

The Web Designer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining EmpowerHer’s website and digital platforms. This role involves creating visually appealing, user-friendly, and responsive websites that effectively communicate the organization’s mission, programs, and initiatives. The ideal candidate is a creative and detail-oriented individual with a strong portfolio of web design work and experience in user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Website Design & Development:

    • Design and develop the EmpowerHer website, ensuring it is visually appealing, easy to navigate, and aligned with the organization’s brand.
    • Implement responsive design principles to ensure the website is accessible across all devices.
    • Collaborate with the marketing and content teams to ensure the website effectively communicates our message and engages our audience.
  • User Experience (UX) & User Interface (UI) Design:

    • Conduct user research to understand the needs and behaviors of our audience.
    • Design intuitive and user-friendly interfaces that enhance the overall user experience.
    • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to visualize and test design concepts.
  • Content Management & Updates:

    • Manage and update website content regularly to keep information current and relevant.
    • Work with the content team to integrate new content, such as blog posts, program updates, and event announcements.
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO):

    • Implement SEO best practices to improve the website’s visibility and ranking on search engines.
    • Monitor website performance and make necessary adjustments to improve site speed and user experience.
  • Collaboration & Communication:

    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the website meets the organization’s needs and supports its goals.
    • Communicate design concepts and progress to stakeholders and incorporate feedback into the design process.
