Chicago Sinfonietta is the most diverse orchestra in the U.S. And a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.
On September 8th, we are performing SCREEN & STAGE in Auditorium Theatre in downtown Chicago. This concert will celebrate the start of a new season, and is the second time the program will be presented, as it will be performed the evening prior in Naperville. It will also feature music from the blockbuster movie The Marvels and the classic Miyazaki film Kiki's Delivery Service. We need people who are passionate about the Arts and Racial Diversity to help us run the show in Chicago.
If you're passionate about diversity, classical music, live performances, or the Arts you'll love volunteering for the Chicago Sinfonietta.
Some of the volunteer activities include: managing Will Call, selling merchandise, helping with our intermission activity, handing out giveaways, and passing out flyers. Naturally, we would love to offer volunteers and their families comp tickets!

Mission Statement
Chicago Sinfonietta is a professional orchestra dedicated to modeling and promoting diversity, inclusion, and both racial and cultural equity in the arts through the universal language of symphonic music. Our core values are built around being bold and daring in all aspects of our work, providing a source of connectivity through music, and ensuring and inspiring a continued investment in diversity and inclusion in classical music.
Description
Founded in 1987, the Chicago Sinfonietta performs classic and contemporary concerts at North Central College in Naperville and the Auditorium Theatre in downtown Chicago. Following in the legacy of the legendary Maestro Paul Freeman, Maestro Mei-Ann Chen ensures that each Sinfonietta concert showcases diverse guest artists and features a surprising array of sound from composers throughout the world and the ages. The Sinfonietta's commitment to diversity has created an open environment for minority musicians to develop their careers, and its educational outreach initiatives provide education and music programming for underserved communities in the Chicago area.
