International Girls Ensemble (IGE) is dedicated to empowering individuals, focusing on girls and women, through the transformative power of theatre and storytelling. Our mission is to cultivate leadership skills, build confidence, and foster empathy in diverse communities, globally. Through engaging and dynamic programs, we provide participants with the tools they need to thrive both personally and professionally.
Position Overview:
We seek a passionate and experienced individual to join our Board of Directors. As a board member, you will play a crucial role in guiding the strategic direction of our organization, ensuring we effectively fulfill our mission and continue to grow our impact. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant organization making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Governance and Oversight: Provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure the organization adheres to its mission and maintains financial health.
- Leadership and Advocacy: Advocate for the organization in the community and leverage your network to support our programs and initiatives.
- Fundraising and Development: Assist in identifying and securing funding opportunities, including individual and corporate donations, grants, and sponsorships.
- Program Support: Offer insights and guidance on program development and evaluation, ensuring that our offerings effectively meet the needs of our participants.
- Collaboration: Work closely with fellow board members, the executive director, and staff to drive organizational goals and foster a collaborative environment.

Championing leadership, literacy, and education for identifying girls and women through theatre, in the US and abroad.
Description
We work with girls in a wide range of communities both in the US and abroad. Focusing on self advocacy, leadership and critical thinking skills and tackling topics including girls access to education, reproductive rights, and ownership over life choices. We currently are partnered with 5 schools in NYC and 2 school internationally in Thailand and Cambodia.
