Serve as a court-appointed advocate for abused and neglected children who come to the attention of the Wake County juvenile court system. Abuse and neglect cases often result in children (birth to age 18) being placed in foster care. Judges depend on testimony and reports from interested parties to inform their decisions about how to protect each child from further harm and meet their needs.
This is a hands on volunteer opportinuty with the children in foster care, advocating for their best interest. There is a 30 hour training to take prior to becoming sworn in by the court.
