AWE's mission is to support. asylum seekers, foreign-born trafficking survivors, and other forced migrants as they navigate the immigration legal process, heal from past trauma, and rebuild their lives in Maryland. Our Community Mentors are matched with specific clients to help them acheive their community integration goals. This may include socialization, cultural acclimation, or English practice. As a mentor, you will p lan and take part in activities and outings to help your mentee feel more at home in Baltimore. The time commitment is one 2 hour training followed by biweekly 2 hour meetings with your mentee on your schedule. Mentorships last six months.

AWE offers holistic and client-centered services under one roof. AWE's unique model emphasizes community and provides a space for forced migrants to learn, share, and support one another.

Our services include:
- Intensive Case Management that is trauma-informed and supports clients access the resources they need to be safe, stable, and self-sufficient
- Benefits Assistance
- Immigration legal services
- Health and Wellness activities through physical and mental health referrals and services through community partnerships
- Material Support through our food pantry, diaper bank, and clothing, toiletry, and other donations
- Community Connection through a range of classes, workshops, and events
