This program provides clothing, toys, and food to families in need during the holiday season. This year we will be serving 550 families and 1500+ kids!
Hotline volunteers play a key role in coordinating the adoptions and inspiring donors to get involved! While much of our communication with donors is via email, it is essential that we have volunteers who can assist donors over the phone to answer questions as well as help donors adopt families. When we are caught up on emails and phone calls, volunteers also help with data entry, writing thank-you notes and other support for the project.
Volunteer Qualifications: Adoption hotline volunteers should be personable, detail-oriented, comfortable using email and enthusiastic about the mission of the Adopt A Family Program.
Dates Needed: October 28 - December 16 - most volunteers do a regular weekly shift, but you don't have to!
(closed for Thanksgiving, Nov. 28th and 29th).
Schedule: Available shifts are Monday - Friday from 10am - 1pm. However, we do have flexability on the time and we have some days where we do a second shift (when we're really busy). We also need a volunteer that can fill in for shifts when people are out (volunteers often need to miss a shift to accomodate vacations or other committments).
Volunteers will be trained prior to their first shift and are asked to fill one shift a week, but you can take time off as needed and you do not have to do the same day every week.
This is a great opportunity to work with a large organization helping families in need.
