Help our Roots Grow!
Join us at our beautiful facilities in Winder, Georgia and help fight insecurity and promote healthy eating in Barrow County.
The fresh produce we grow is shared with local organizations that distribute it to individuals and families facing food insecurity. We also hold free educational programs for our communnity focused on healthy eating in our demonstration kitchen. Year round we are on the farm, in the barn or in our demonstration kitchen. All of our endeavors require many kind hands to help us achieve our mission.
This is a great opportunity to contribute to an important cause, and make a meaningful impact in the community. No prior experience is necessary-just bring your energy and enthusiasm!
Volunteer shifts: Our main Volunteer needs are Monday - Friday 8a-4p. However we are on the farm on Fridays and Saturdays.
Location: Wimberly's Roots - located at the Wimberly Center for Community Development in Winder.
Help us seed Kindness and make a difference to those we serve!

Mission Statement
Wimberly's Roots combats food insecurity by providing fresh, locally grown produce and educational programs in nutrition, gardening, and sustainable agriculture. We empower communities to lead healthier, more sustainable lives through engagement and accessible resources.
Description
Wimberly's Roots is a nonprofit organization committed to addressing food insecurity and promoting healthier communities. We grow and distribute fresh, locally sourced produce to underserved populations while offering a variety of educational programs focused on nutrition, gardening, and sustainable agriculture. Our hands-on workshops, classes, and demonstrations teach individuals and families how to grow their own food, make nutritious meals, and adopt environmentally conscious practices.
In addition to food production and education, we engage the community through events, volunteer opportunities, and collaborations with local chefs, educators, and agricultural experts. Our demo kitchen hosts cooking classes and healthy eating initiatives, while our community garden and farm provide spaces for learning and cultivating fresh produce.
At Wimberly's Roots, we aim to empower individuals with the knowledge and resources they need to lead healthier, more sustainable lives, while fostering a strong sense of community and shared responsibility for food security.
