Aging Simulation Workshop

This evidence-based workshop promotes empathy and relatability when caring for someone with age-related physical and cognitive challenges. It provides an opportunity to "walk" in someone else's shoes. Participants gain a greater understanding of age-related challenges including neuropathy, hearing loss, vision loss, arthrities, language and cognitive impairment. The exercises mimic what it feels like to be frustrated, confused, isolated and more.

Location:

2881 Canton Rd, Marietta, GA 30066, US

Mission Statement

To empower family care givers, aging care receivers and volunteers in a positive, nurturing manner through quality programming.

Description

Aloha to Aging, Inc. was founded by Dawn Reed, a Certified Senior Advisor and owner of Aloha to Senior Solutions Consulting, who has been in the healthy aging industry for 25+ years. After directing an award winning and nationally recognized day respite program for six years and leading caregiver education and support groups, Dawn knew first hand the increased value these services provided to families. With tremendous encouragement and support from the community, volunteers and families, Aloha to Aging, Inc. was founded in August 2009.

Thus far, annually we have positively impacted the lives of over 3,000 individuals even through the COVID-19 pandemic,to age well and better understand and respond to the ever-changing needs associated with caring for an aging person.

Programs we offer include adult day respite, caregiver support groups, wellness, education and many more!
