All Things Women Inc. (ATW) is embarking on an inspiring project to open a new 40-bed facility dedicated to supporting unhoused women, children, and female veterans. This project aims to provide safe and supportive housing to some of our community's most vulnerable members, ensuring they have a place to call home and the resources they need to rebuild their lives. Our primary goal is to prepare the new facility for an official opening on October 1, 2024. This ambitious timeline underscores the urgency of our mission. By meeting this deadline, we will significantly expand our capacity to offer critical services and support to more women and children in need. The facility will provide shelter and create a nurturing environment that fosters healing, empowerment, and growth. A dedicated four-day volunteer event will be held from September 11 to September 14, 2024, to achieve this ambitious goal. During this event, volunteers will engage in a variety of activities essential to readying the facility for its residents: Painting: Volunteers will paint walls and other surfaces to create a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere within the facility. Decorating: Teams will help decorate the rooms and common areas, adding personal touches to make the space feel homely and comforting. Creating Common and Children's Areas: Volunteers will design and set up common areas and dedicated spaces for children, ensuring these areas are safe, functional, and inviting. Building Furniture: Assembling and arranging furniture to provide comfortable living spaces for the residents. Installing New Fixtures: Volunteers will install essential fixtures, such as lighting, shelving, and other hardware, to enhance the facility's functionality. General Cleaning: Thoroughly cleaning the entire facility to ensure a clean and hygienic environment for the incoming residents. The success of this project relies on the collective efforts of a diverse group of volunteers, including: 250 Veteran Volunteers: Bringing their dedication and skills to support fellow veterans and community members in need. 120 Rocket Mortgage Volunteers: Contributing their time and effort as part of their commitment to community service. 100 Youth Volunteers: Participating to gain valuable volunteer credits for their college applications while positively impacting their community. This project is a community-driven initiative that showcases the power of collective effort and compassion. By joining forces, volunteers will help ATW create a safe and supportive haven for unhoused women, children, and female veterans. This is more than just a facility- it's a place where lives can be rebuilt with dignity and hope. Your participation in this project will make a meaningful difference in our community.

Mission Statement
The Michigan Community Service Commission (MCSC) utilizes service as a strategy to address the state’s most pressing issues and empowers volunteers to strengthen communities.
Description
Since its founding in 1991, the MCSC has granted more than $100 million in public and private funds to community organizations enabling them to engage millions of Michigan citizens in volunteer service. This support has leveraged more than $85 million in local resources to further support these community volunteer initiatives.
Volunteerism doesn't just happen. Most social service and nonprofit organizations rely heavily on volunteers as a valuable human resource; that resource must be stewarded carefully and supported continuously. Volunteer recruitment, management, training, placement, and recognition require resources and attention. With continued public and private support, along with the necessary training, resources, and coordination needed to help people serve, volunteerism can become a way of life for all Michigan citizens.
It is our vision that all Michigan residents, beginning at an early age and continuing for a lifetime, meet community needs and find personal fulfillment through service-learning and volunteering. Michigan is an ideal place to live and is recognized nationally because its citizens believe so strongly in the value of service as a way of life.
