Assist with the distribution of fresh food items like produce, eggs and milk. Volunteers will be loading food into the trunk of cars or helping with directing traffic. Volunteers will be working outside in a parking lot. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Not for court ordered volunteers.

Gleaners Community Food Bank, with broad community support, fights hunger in southeastern Michigan.

Description

For more than 40 years, Gleaners Community Food Bank has been "feeding hungry people and nourishing our communities." Last year, Gleaners distributed 42 million pounds of emergency food to 499 partner soup kitchens, shelters and pantries in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, and Monroe counties.


Of every dollar donated, Gleaners uses 97 cents for food and food programs. One dollar provides three meals for a hungry neighbor.
