CORA’s Speak Up Program is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Chinese speaking volunteer to join our team! Speak Up educates San Mateo County community businesses on breaking the cycle of intimate partner abuse in a 15-30 minute presentation. The program was first initiated in the city of San Carlos in reaction to the tragic murder of Karina Castro. Since then many other cities in our county have signed up to bring Speak Up to their city. And to meet the needs of this growing program, we need your help! We are bringing Speak Up presentations to our local Chinese speaking community to raise awareness of CORA resources throughout San Mateo County, and we need a bilingual volunteer to help translate the handouts and also to interpret live presentations from English to Mandarin or Cantonese.
