CONTACT of Mercer County, NJ’s training program teaches active listening skills, telephone and chat, and text crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and more during our training courses. The CONTACT training courses provide a great way to become a better listener and help others simultaneously. And, giving back helps you, too.

CONTACT will hold free in-person and Zoom training for six (6) weeks beginning the second week of September 2024. The training will discuss issues of mental health, active listening, and suicide prevention through the New Jersey 988 Lifeline. Those interested in taking the training must be over 18 years old and out of High School. No additional education is required. College students and community adults find CONTACT’s training helpful personally and professionally. Anyone interested in taking the training courses may select either the in-person course or the course via Zoom. They do not need to take both.

The free in-person training will be held for six (6) weeks on Tuesdays, beginning September 10, 2024, from 10 a.m. to noon, ending October 22, 2024. No training will be held on October 15, 2024. The location of the in-person training will be provided to individuals who register in advance.

Free Zoom Training will be held for six (6) weeks on Wednesdays, beginning September 11, 2024, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., ending October 23, 2024. No training will be held on October 16, 2024. The Zoom link will be distributed to individuals who register in advance.
