Volunteers are an integral part of the AccentCare team, providing compassion and care when it is needed the most. As the heart and hands of the hosice team, volunteers provide a special kind of caring to patients, families, and staff through helping to make the hospice experience manageable and rewarding.
Volunteers enrich the lives of patients by providing emotional support and companionship for the patient and their families within the patient's home or in one of our facilities. Volunteers can help in various ways such as reading, listening to music, making crafts, office work, helping patients make a legacy project, veteran to veteran volunteer, watching movies, and so much more.
Volunteer selection begins with an application and interview where potential volunteers may express their personal goals, availability, interests, and talents.
ALL POTENTIAL VOLUNTEERS MUST SUBMIT AN APPLICATION, ARE CAREFULLY SCREENED AND MUST UNDERGO A BACKGROUND CHECK, TAKE A TB TEST, DRUG TESTING AND ORIENTATION/TRAINING PRIOR TO START. ALL TESTS AND SCREENINGS ARE PROVIDED BY ACCENTCARE WITH NO ADDITIONAL COSTS TO THE VOLUNTEER..
