We are launching an exciting new initiative at CCCS Refugee Resettlement- a Volunteer Interpreters Program.
We are passionate about supporting refugees as they start new lives in our community and recognize the critical role that language plays in facilitating their integration and ensuring their needs are met effectively. This is why we are establishing a team of dedicated volunteer interpreters who can help bridge the language gap and provide vital support during crucial interactions such as appointments with case managers, accompaniments to offices across the city, and phone calls with health insurance providers.
Why Volunteer with Us?
Meaningful Impact: Your linguistic skills can make a real difference in the lives of refugees by ensuring they have clear communication in essential situations.
Flexible Commitment: We understand your time is valuable. Volunteers can choose flexible shifts that fit their schedules.
Professional Development: Gain valuable experience in interpretation and cross-cultural communication.
Join a Community: Become part of a supportive network of like-minded individuals committed to humanitarian causes.
How You Can Get Involved:
Volunteer as an Interpreter: If you are fluent in any language other than English, we would love to have you join our team. We are looking for speakers of Spanish, Haitian Creole, French, Ukrainain, Russian, Dari, Pashto, Pulaar, and Arabic.
*We are looking for BOTH virtual and in-person volunteers at our Manhattan, New York offices. We will work one-on-one to determine further logistics.
