About Us: MBMentors.org is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 organization dedicated to helping

entrepreneurs and small business owners start, run and grow their businesses. Founded in 2020,

we have been actively helping small businesses through our free service offerings. Our volunteers

are passionate and committed, driving impactful change throughout the Twin Cities area.

Position Overview: We are seeking a local dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead our

organization into its next phase of growth and impact. The Executive Director will be responsible

for providing strategic leadership, overseeing daily operations, and fostering a collaborative

environment that empowers volunteers to achieve our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Strategy

o Develop and implement strategic plans in alignment with the organization's

mission and goals.

o Provide visionary leadership to inspire and motivate volunteer staff.

2. Operations Management

o Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure efficient management of resources.

o Monitor organizational performance and ensure compliance with legal and

regulatory requirements.

3. Financial Management

o Manage the organization's budget and financial resources effectively.

4. Community Engagement and Public Relations

o Serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate for the organization.

o Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including volunteers,

donors, partners, and the broader small business community.

5. Board Governance

o Support the Board of Directors in its governance role, including board

development, meetings, and committee support.

o Provide regular updates and reports to the Board on organizational performance

and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in a leadership role preferably within the non-profit sector
  • Strong understanding of non-profit governance, sales and marketing strategies, and

financial management.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships

and inspire confidence among diverse stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, innovate, and drive results in a dynamic

environment.

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant field.

Time Commitment:

This is a volunteer position requiring a commitment of approximately 35 hours per month. The

term of office is two years with the possibility of renewal.

As a 501(c)3 non-profit, MBMentors volunteers are a diverse team of individuals brought together by the mission to advise, support, and empower entrepreneurs and small business owners. We do this with our skills, experiences, knowledge, and abilities to help people start, run, and grow their small businesses. And, we do this at no cost to our clients.

Description

MBMentors was founded in January of 2020, as a 501(c)3, all-volunteer, non-profit business services organization. We are a group of experienced businesspeople whose mission is to give back to our business community. All volunteers have extensive business experience and expertise in starting, running and growing businesses.

Our 20+ team members desire is to help our clients succeed in starting and operating their business ventures. Our services include: 1:1 business coaching/mentoring, educational webinars, business plan support, CEO Roundtables and a Women's Collective for and by women in business.

Mentoring/Coaching clients are assigned to an advisor based on his/her specific needs and business challenges. Volunteers and clients have the option of meeting in-person, through email, phone, or video conferencing. Meetings occur as frequently as the client request. There is no cost to our clients for the services we provide.
