Are you looking for a way to give back to your community while empowering and supporting those who need it most? You've come to the right place! The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Vermont (NAMI Vermont) offers FREE mental health support groups across the state!

NAMI Vermont offers two types of support groups:

  • Family Support Group, for loved ones of individuals who have mental health challenges - learn more at namivt.org/fsg
  • Connection Peer Support Group, for individuals who have mental health challenges - learn more at namivt.org/csg

Both kinds of support groups offer welcoming, and inspiring spaces for all to share their story in a judgment-free environment. Support groups can be facilitated virtually, in-person, or in a hybrid setting.

NAMI Vermont is seeking volunteers to lead these groups statewide. To get started, please join the waitlist for training on our website!

Did you know that 1 in 5 Vermonters are affected by mental health challenges at some point in their lives? The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Vermont (NAMI Vermont) is a grassroots volunteer organization providing support, education, and advocacy FREE of charge so that all communities, families, and individuals affected by mental illness or mental health challenges can build better lives.

NAMI Vermont believes that mental wellness is achievable. We share our lived experiences to develop understanding, empathy, and compassion for one another. We practice acceptance, empowerment, honesty, self-care, and inclusion. Above all, we believe that there is always hope.

At NAMI Vermont, our vibrant community thrives on the invaluable contributions of dedicated volunteers. We’re a small grassroots organization relying on the commitment of individuals like you to power support groups, educational classes, events, and community outreach. Volunteers are the driving force behind our programs, enabling us to offer these free resources to communities in all corners of the state and online.
