STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program that specializes in
an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes
the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and
math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to
high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and
application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally
competitive results.
Are you excited about shaping the future of global education? We’re looking
for enthusiastic volunteers to join our international event planning team for
an upcoming Global Education Fair, where we’ll showcase our innovative
Medical Science and Engineering Academy to a diverse audience. This is a
unique opportunity to gain invaluable experience, work alongside industry
experts, and make a significant impact on the educational landscape. By
volunteering for 3 months, you’ll help create an engaging and memorable
experience for attendees while showcasing the transformative potential of
our innovation programming for students ages 7-17. Come be a part of this
exciting project and help us connect with parents, students, and educators
from around the world!
L ocation: Remote
Time commitment - 6 hours/week
Description: As a Content Moderator for STEM Canada, you will be
responsible for monitoring and moderating online discussions and
interactions during the Global Education Fair. Your role involves ensuring
adherence to event guidelines, addressing inappropriate content or behavior,
and maintaining a positive and respectful environment for all participants.
Your attention to detail and proactive approach will be key in fostering a
constructive and engaging event atmosphere. Key Responsibilities:
 Oversee online discussions, chats, and interactions during the event to
ensure they adhere to event guidelines and standards.
 Implement and enforce community guidelines and rules to maintain a
positive and respectful environment.
 Identify and address inappropriate content or behavior, taking
appropriate action to resolve issues in real-time.
 Provide guidance and support to participants who have questions or
concerns regarding interaction norms or guidelines.
 Work closely with event management and technical teams to address
any content-related issues and ensure a smooth event experience.
 Document and report any significant incidents or violations to event
organizers for further action.

Requirements:
 Experience in online moderation, particularly on platforms like Zoom,
with a strong understanding of maintaining positive online
environments.
 High attention to detail to effectively monitor and manage discussions
and interactions.
 Strong communication skills to interact professionally with participants
and address issues promptly.
 Ability to handle and resolve conflicts or inappropriate behavior quickly
and effectively.
 Proactive and vigilant in identifying potential issues and taking
preventive measures to ensure a positive event experience.
