Recruiting Organization: Seneca Falls Historical Society

The town of Seneca Falls has a rich history and is located in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. To preserve that history, the Seneca Falls Historical Society was chartered in 1896 by local historians. They collected artifacts at two locations before moving to the beautiful Becker Mansion Cayuga Street. Our mission is to preserve artifacts, teach the community the history of Seneca Falls, and to conduct research.

We are looking for volunteers that are interested in helping us achieve our mission. We have open positions for volunteers in the following departments:

Collections. Our Collections Department maintains our enormous inventory of historical items. This includes cataloging new items, helping to update our displays and exhibits, and ensuring that our items are properly stored.

Historical Research. Our library houses a wealth of information. Working in Historical Research will mean helping visitors navigate our records, conducting genealogy research, and assignments from our Curator as needed.

Educational Programs. The Historical Society hosts a number of educational programs for all ages. Volunteering to work with our Education Department means helping to create and implement educational programs under the direction of our Education Coordinator.
