Mission Statement
To bring compassion to healthcare and to be good help to those in need. We provide supportive and comfortable accommodations to our families to effectively promote health and wholeness in an environment that feels like home.
Description
The Evelyn D. Reinhart Guest House is an expansion of our ministry of hospitality that began in 1997 when the Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital volunteer auxiliary saw a need to care for the caregivers and opened four small guest cottages on the hospital campus. As St. Mary's Hospital has offered more advanced treatments and therapies, an increasing number of patients are traveling greater distances for their care, creating an increased demand for our Guest House program to expand. With that understanding of need, we began construction of the Evelyn D. Reinhart Guest House in September 2013 on property already owned by Bon Secours St. Mary’s. The Guest House provides overnight accommodations and a community of support for patients families who live more than 30 minutes away. The $4 million project is funded almost exclusively through philanthropic support. We were excited to open our doors to families in June 2014. The Evelyn D. Reinhart Guest House was the first major building project on this section of Libbie Avenue in more than 45 years. The 14,000-square-foot residence has 16 rooms with private bath, large kitchen, infant/teen play area, living room, dining room, laundry facilities, and beautifully landscaped grounds, which allows our guests to relax and recharge. To sustain our ministry of hospitality, we will rely 100% on the generosity of our community to support the operations of the house, both financially and with volunteer support.
