Hello Potential Camp Erin Volunteers!

Camp Erin is a free weekend bereavement camp for children and teens ages 6 to 17 years old who are grieving the death of a significant person (or persons) in their lives. We combine grief education and emotional support with fun traditional camp activities. We help campers learn about grief and develop health coping skills, while they create meaningful connections with peers their age who have similar experiences. At Camp Erin, our main goal is to make sure that no child is left to grieve alone.

Typically, we host 2 overnight youth camps twice a year. Our next traditional overnight weekend Camp Erin (youth only) coming up on October 25-27 at Camp Owaissa Bauer in Homestead, FL!

To apply, volunteer candidates must complete the following:

  • Complete and submit a Volunteer Packet, with 2 letters of recommendation, (found on our website at the bottom under "Volunteer Opportunities") to our team at CampErin@catholichospice.org
  • Complete additional paperwork given by our Volunteer Services department.
  • Attend one mandatory virtual volunteer training.
  • Complete the virtual training (online self-study).
  • Complete and pass drug and background screenings.
  • Attend any pre-camp events and meetings.
