Become a Volunteer Guardian Today!
What if you lost the ability to make sound decisions for yourself, and there was no one to help you?
People become cognitively impaired every day from dementia or other causes and they depend on family to arrange for their care. But some people outlive or have no family. Others had their life upended by domestic violence, PTSD, or other trauma. Some have been taken advantage of financially. And now they’ve lost their cognition and are utterly alone.
There are people like this in every community - including yours. "How sad," everyone says. "But what can you do?"
As a Volunteer Guardian, you could be the hero who answers that question!
A guardian is someone appointed by the court to make decisions and take actions for another person who can’t make decisions for themselves. A guardian is not a caregiver, but makes arrangements to ensure the person receives the proper level and type of care, soliciting as much input from the person as possible.
If you are interested in making a difference in someone's life and would like to become a volunteer guardian, please contact us.
