ORGANIZATION: Uplift Hospice
Please visit the new page to apply.
The Uplift Hospice Team is actively recruiting volunteers to join our amazing team of "Uplifters". As an Uplifter, you will be part of the team that provides support to our patients, their caregivers and families. As a hospice volunteer, you play a crucial role in providing comfort and compassion during a challenging time.
Some of the Volunteer Responsibilities may include:
- Companionship: Reading books, playing music, playing cards, crafts, painting nails, going for walks, or attending facility events
- Support: Engaging in conversations, empathetic listening, offering comfort, or simply sitting quietly, providing a reassuring presence
- Caregiver Respite: Providing relief for family members and caregivers by staying with the patient, allowing them to take breaks, attend appointments, or tend to personal needs.
- Light cooking/cleaning
*Volunteers do not and are not to perform medical treatment of any nature*
Our volunteers are a part of our care team and will receive training in hospice care, care principles and continuing/ongoing support from our team to ensure you feel prepared and confident in your role.
You may think, I want to but only have a little amount of time or a schedule that is too varied, that is not the case here! Flexible hours to fit your schedule, anywhere from a couple of hours to more however if you only have half an hour one week and an hour the next, that works! You choose the times that work best for you!

Mission Statement
Redefining the hospice journey into one that families are proud to tell for generations to come.
Description
Uplift Hospice is family-owned and operated by a Mother-and-Son team - Jennifer Lawrie and Owen Lawrie. Jennifer is a Registered Nurse who has worked in hospice for over 10 years. Owen’s background is in business and finance. We feel that having both the clinical and business expertise in the ownership team is critical to being an impactful community partner. Jennifer and Owen feel strongly that company culture and employee satisfaction is far too often neglected and forgotten in healthcare more broadly, but especially in hospice. Therefore, every decision Uplift makes is rooted in making sure our employees are happy, excited, and energetic about who they’re working for and what they’re doing every day. This allows our community assurance that we are able to recruit and retain the most talented clinical and administrative staff in the industry. This results in consistency in the clinical team assigned to facilities and patients, seamless interactions for facility staff, patients, and their families, and the overall highest quality of hospice care. We are always overstaffed on the clinical side as quality of care comes first in everything we do. Our response times are second-to-none, our clinical team is highly experienced in hospice, and our community liaisons make the patient and family experience seamless and comforting by following from the hospital to the home and every step in-between.
