Mission Statement
Migrateful’s mission is to celebrate refugees and migrants on their journey to integration by supporting them to run their own cookery classes. We believe in harnessing the unifying power of food to bridge divides, challenge stereotypes, and promote unity.
Description
Migrateful is an award-winning, innovative social enterprise and registered charity. We exist to help the UK’s asylum seeker, refugee and migrant community on their journey to employment and independence and promote integration - and we do that through food.
Food draws people together. Our shared love of it is a powerful bond. Migrateful runs cookery classes led by refugees, asylum seekers and migrants facing barriers to integration. The classes provide ideal conditions not just for learning English and building confidence, but also for promoting contact and cultural exchange with the wider community. They are attended by the food-loving general public as well as corporates. Cooking food together, rather than just eating it, presents a wonderful opportunity to tell stories and build a sense of belonging
