Tutoring Plus of Cambridge is a local nonprofit that provides free tutoring, mentoring, and enrichment programs to students in grades 4-12. Our programs advance educational equity by supporting youth in their academic, personal, and social growth. Our vision is a world where every young person is empowered with the knowledge and confidence to create their future.

Tutoring Plus is launching a new high school program this year, and we need volunteer to make it happen! Are you passionate about education and have experience in teaching, tutoring, or preparing students for standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, MCAS, or other relevant exams?

We are seeking up to two dedicated and knowledgeable volunteer to lead our Test Prep Workshops in November and December for our two high school program locations. The Test Prep Workshop Leaders will help students improve their test-taking skills, build confidence, and achieve their academic goals. The workshops will be one hour a week in the evenings from 5-6 PM.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct engaging, interactive test prep workshops for middle and high school students.
  • Provide instruction on test-taking strategies, content review, and time management.
  • Create and distribute materials such as practice tests, worksheets, and study guides.
  • Assess students' strengths and areas for improvement to tailor instruction accordingly.
  • Offer individualized support and feedback to students during workshops.
  • Collaborate with the High School Program Coordinator to ensure workshops align with students' needs and program goals.
  • Track student progress and provide updates to the Program Coordinator.
  • Foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment for all students.
