Role Overview:

MIHEI is seeking a passionate and skilled Volunteer Grant Writer to join our team. The Volunteer Grant Writer will play a crucial role in securing funding to support our various programs and initiatives. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to improving maternal and infant health outcomes in Nigeria and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other funding sources.
  • Develop and write grant proposals and applications, ensuring compliance with grant guidelines and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with MIHEI team members to gather necessary information for proposals, including program descriptions, budgets, and supporting documents.
  • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines, and track the progress and status of submitted proposals.
  • Assist in preparing grant reports and updates for funders as required.
  • Build and maintain relationships with current and potential funders.
  • Stay informed about trends in philanthropy and changes in grant guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in grant writing, with a successful track record of securing funding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and articulate the mission and goals of MIHEI.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with grant management software or databases.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Passionate about maternal and infant health and equity issues.
