Do you love events?! Do you have a positive, "can do" attitude with exceptional customer service skills?

* CHILDREN IN PLACEMENT NEEDS YOU! *

Children in Placement is a statewide, nonprofit organization on the frontlines of the child welfare system, supporting and advocating for the best interests of abused, neglected, and abandoned children in Connecticut!

We are hosting our largest fundraising event of the year, "Flavors of Hope" on September 27th at the Fairfield Museum & History Center and we are looking for several volunteers to work this event.

"Flavors of Hope" is not your typical fundraising Gala - instead, we are bringing together over a dozen local vendors, including wineries, breweries, and restaurants, who will be providing our guests with unique and exciting tasting experience!

Volunteers will support the event in the following ways:

  • For Shift # 1 (Set-Up - 2:00pm to 5:30pm), the volunteers will do just that, help set up before the event starts which will include placing tables and linens, organizing silent auction tables, placing signage in appropriate places, placing centerpieces and decor, ensuring vendors have the proper equipment (ice bins, buckets, glassware, etc.), setting up guest giveaways, and other duties as assigned.

  • For Shift # 2 (Event Support - 5:00pm to 10:00pm), these volunteers will provide support during the event which will include being a "runner" for the vendors, helping get ice and other supplies, potentially serving beer, wine, or food, monitoring the silent auction table, busing tables and keeping areas clean, checking guests in and welcoming guests. These volunteers will also help with clean-up after the event is over.

Volunteers will be expected to main a high-level of professionalism throughout the entire event and are not allowed to consume alcohol. Food and beverages will be provided to volunteers separately.

This is a great opportunity for students 18+ who need community service hours for school or for anyone who is looking to gain some firsthand experience with event planning!

Volunteers must be 18+ years old.

**Please DO NOT register to volunteer unless you are 100% committed to attending**

Follow-up communications will be sent with additional details.
