Summary:

The Phoenix Health Alliance (PHA) seeks a highly motivated and skilled Grant Writer to join our team. The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government agencies to secure funding for PHA's programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of securing grants, excellent writing and communication skills, and a passion for improving healthcare in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify potential grant funding opportunities aligned with PHA's mission and strategic goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with foundation program officers, corporate giving representatives, and government officials.
  • Write compelling grant proposals that clearly articulate PHA's programs, impact, and need for funding.
  • Prepare grant budgets and supporting financial documentation.
  • Track grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of proposals.
  • Maintain accurate records of grant submissions, awards, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation of grant reports, ensuring compliance with funder requirements.
  • Collaborate with program staff to gather data and stories that demonstrate the impact of PHA's work.
  • Stay informed about trends and best practices in grant writing and philanthropy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in grant writing, preferably in the healthcare or nonprofit sector.
  • Demonstrated success in securing grants from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Passion for PHA's mission and commitment to improving healthcare in the Phoenix community.

Goals:
Reduce STI and teen pregnancy rates: Through education, access to services, and building healthy relationships, we aim to empower teens to make responsible choices about their reproductive health.
Promote healthy relationships: Our programs provide resources and education on topics like healthy communication, consent, and respectful relationships.
Break down barriers to access: We strive to eliminate obstacles that prevent teens from accessing quality reproductive health services.
Empower parents and guardians: We provide resources and support to help parents and guardians have open and honest conversations with their teens about sexual health.
Create a culture of sexual health awareness: We advocate for comprehensive and evidence-based sexual health education in schools and within the community.


Our Approach:

The Phoenix Health Alliance utilizes a multi-faceted approach to achieve its goals. We:
Develop and deliver educational workshops and programs for adolescents and parents.
Advocate for policy changes that promote adolescent health and access to reproductive healthcare services.
Partner with schools, healthcare providers, and other community organizations to create a coordinated support network.
Utilize evidence-based practices and stay current on the latest research in adolescent health education.
