Calling all High School Changemakers!
Want to make a real difference in your community? Join SAVE LGBT to be a volunteer canvasser!

Here's what you'll do:
  • Chat with voters about the pro-equality candidates in upcoming elections.
  • Discuss a voting plan with voters.
  • Meet other passionate high school students who care about change.
  • Gain experience in activism and civic engagement - looks great on college applications!

Bonus: It's flexible! Sign up for a few hours on the Saturdays that work for your busy schedule.

Commitment Required:

  • 50 ACTUAL hours of service from August to November 2024.
  • Attendance at approximately 10 Saturday canvasses.
  • Completion of 50 hours is mandatory for a service letter.
  • 50 hours equates to 150-200 community service hours on the letter.
Requirements:
  • Be 16 years old or older (or 15 years old with a parent/guardian).
  • Attend a virtual volunteer orientation.

SAVE is recognized as South Florida’s longest serving organization dedicated to protecting people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) against discrimination.

Since 1993, SAVE has advocated for equal rights for persons of all sexual orientations and gender identities. We accomplish this through grassroots action focused on:

  • Political Advocacy - Working to promote local, state, and federal policy change by building community consensus.
  • Community Outreach - Changing hearts and minds by educating the people of South Florida about LGBTQ issues.
  • Candidate Endorsements - Supporting political leaders committed to ending LGBTQ discrimination.
