Sewa Maryland joins AmeriCorps and its partner American Diversity Group to engage senior citizens in Act Green, Save the Future. By consistently following small, yet impactful, habits toward achieving a greener environment, a BIG change can be made. This is an educational and awareness workshop followed by a month-long activity with senior citizens to promote good habits for reducing the carbon footprint and helping the environment. The period of activity is between July 27 and Sep. 21.
Commemoration ceremonies remembering the victims, fallen heroes, first responders of, and volunteers who helped during and after, the 9/11 tragedy and appreciation of volunteers who participated in a year-long campaign for 9/11 National Day of Remembrance and Service would also be held.
