Hutchinson Public Library-Adult Tutors
ORGANIZATION: The Volunteer Center of Reno County
Please visit the new page to apply.
The educational needs of individual library patrons vary widely, so a number of volunteers with various skills and time commitments to support the learning activities that take place in the library are needed.
Volunteer tutors will assist adult patrons with studying basic math, basic reading, GED
preparation, improving spoken English and similar tasks in order to reach personal,
family, education or work goals, participate more fully in their community and improve
their day-to-day lives. Material will be provided. Meetings will take place in a library meeting room. Volunteers do not need to be subject matter experts. Experience has shown success is more dependent on the tutor and patron relationship then a tutor's background in a subject.
