Help our Veteran inpatients feel better by providing hygiene and comfort items. Volunteers are needed at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center to distribute comfort items to inpatient Veterans. Comfort Cart Volunteers will stock a cart with hygiene and recreation items to round on inpatient wards. Volunteers will greet Veterans at inpatent rooms, providing a short social interaction while offering patients items such as shampoo, lotion, mindfulness kit, or handmade quilt. Volunteers will also refill supply cabinets of these items on wards for staff to distribute to Veteran patients when comfort cart is not available.
Shifts available incude weekdays, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm or 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
A resume is not required but can be submitted before or during the initial new volunteer appointment with CDCE.

- Orientation or Training
- One four-hour shift per week for a six-month minimum commitment.
- Candidates must pass a background check, and complete required training including patient privacy awareness. Candidates will be asked to submit immunization records and complete a tuberculosis screening test.
