The UCLA Stein Eye Institute in Westwood is renowned for providing top-quality ophthalmology and specialty eye care services with exceptional customer service. Founded in 1966, the institute's vision science campus is the leading hospital for ophthalmology in California.

As an Ambassador Concierge volunteer, you'll be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming environment for patients at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute. Your primary duties will include greeting patients and directing them to specialty clinics or nearby UCLA cafeterias. You may also need to assist vision-impaired patients to the clinic or accompany them with wheelchairs.

This volunteer position is for three months and requires eight- to twelve-hour monthly commitment. The uniform consists of a UCLA volunteer smock and khaki or black pants.

Description

The UCLA Stein Eye Institute’s Center for Community Outreach and Policy, under the direction of Dr. Anne L. Coleman, is dedicated to the principle that all individuals deserve the best vision attainable. Building upon the Institute’s long tradition of community service and leadership at the interface of ophthalmology and public health, the Center conducts vital research in public-health ophthalmology through the UCLA Center for Eye Epidemiology. It provides high-impact community-based services, such as the UCLA Mobile Eye Clinic. The Preschool Vision Screenings and Vision In-School programs of the Center are generously underwritten by the Jules and Doris Stein UCLA Support Group.
